Septuagenarian arrested for allegedly raping minor
A septuagenarian has been arrested and detained by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl in the Iju area of the state, following report made by the father of the underage girl.
Penpushing reports that the Command Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this development while speaking with journalists, explaining that the 74-year-old man committed the crime on March 12, 2025.
“The suspect allegedly defiled his neighbour’s daughter in his room. Based on the report, a team of detectives visited the scene. The girl was taken to the hospital for examination and treatment, while the suspect was immediately detained’, Hundeyin said.
Penpushing further reports that the police spokesperson explained that the girl’s father reported the case to the Iju Police Division on Thursday, March 13, at about 5.00 p.m., adding that investigation was ongoing, and that on completion the suspect would be arraigned in court.
