Nigeria Anglican Communion honours Folu Olamiti
The Ibadan Diocese of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion has honoured a renowned veteran journalist, and Publisher of Newspotng online newspapers, Sir Folu Olamiti in appreciation of his invaluable service to the Anglican Diocese
Penpushing reports that, the ceremony was held at the Cathedral of St James Oke-Bola Ibadan, Oyo State Capital, which was part of activities to celebrate 70th anniversary of the Nigeria Anglican Diocese.
The event was kickstarted with processional hymn: Lift the strain…. High the Cross…. God of Abraham, and with a call to worship from Psalm 15, as well as Bible reading from Luke 10: 1-20,as well as creed, collect and prayer.
Penpushing further reports that, Most Rev Henry Ndukuba(Archbishop Metropolitan and Primate of All Nigeria) gave the sermon at the well attended ceremony which was followed with thanksgiving
The theme of the celebration was ‘God with us, As with our Fathers’, while withdrawal hymns include: O God our Help….For my Sake…God is working….and the award presentation was done by Most Rev Joseph Akinfenwa, Lord Bishop of the Diocese of Ibadan
Penpushing also reports that, Olamiti was accompanied by his wife, as well as some of his colleagues in the profession which include: Banji Ogundele(veteran journalist), Ayo Akinyemi(veteran journalist), Prince Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji(founder Penpushing media) and Tommy Adegbite(Photo Editor, Tribune Newspapers) among other dignitaries
The awardee while speaking expressed glory to God, adding that he was delighted over the honour, which he said would further spur him on need to continue serving God with all dedications and prayed that God will continued to keep all
The Ibadan Diocese of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion is 70. Today has been dedicated with thanksgiving and awards day for some sons and daughters of the Diocese. I am delighted to be one of them. May the Lord continue to keep us worthy to be among those that will be rapturable at the last day in Jesus name’, Olamiti said
Penpushing reports that, another notable awardee at the ceremony was the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu who was beaming with smiles and exchanging pleasantries with well wishers after receipt of the award
