Penpushing reports that, Mujota while making the donations said this will serve as palliatives to members of his constituency for them to have something to feed on during the period of lockdown which is to start on Friday 3rd April, 2020

The beneficiaries of the gestures include residents of Ago Oko, Elega, Olomore, Mokola, Totoro, Iberekodo, Olorunda, Ibara Orile, Ijale Papa, Lafenwa,Ita-Eko, Ilugun, Sodeke, as well as Leprosy centre and , Community Development Council among others.

Penpushing further reports that, Mujota a former Commissioner in the State said the project code-name SOPE TIE ……MODUPE TEMI has been in existence before the outbreak of coronavirus, adding that she sees  extending hands of fellowship  towards her people as her modest contribution towards supporting the State government in order to cushion the effect of the sit-at-home order by the Federal Government.

The lawmaker urged the people to comply with Federal and State Government directives on the lockdown order and obey all precautionary measures recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) and Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

Penpushing also reports that, some of the beneficiaries who spoke with journalists expressed appreciation to the donor for the kindness and humanitarian gesture shown to the people, and a member of Abeokuta North Zonal Community Development Council, (CDC) Mr. Adeniyi Olusegun, noted that the relief foodstuff would go a long way in salvaging the situation, as many residents of the community are artisans who live through daily means.

“We want to thank our Honourable for remembering the poor people in this difficult time. Don’t let me deceive you,   many of us don’t have hope of where to get money to buy the skyrocketing foodstuff at the market’, he said.

“Majority of us are artisans who eke out a living from our daily activities. We don’t have steady or monthly income; we can only get money to buy food if we are allowed to go to work. We have Okada riders, taxi drivers, vulcanizers, carpenters, site engineers, beer parlour operators and hoteliers among us; if we don’t work daily, how can we get money to buy food?”.

Penpushing reports that, another beneficiary, Mrs. Kusimo Folasade, of Totoro area of Abeokuta, commended the lawmaker for the consistent sensitization about coronavirus  pandemic and the distribution of foodstuff to the people at the grassroots.

“This is commendable; at least, if I add this bag of garri and beans to the bag of rice and other materials donated by other donors and the State Government, it will still sustain me and my family for about 10 days.”
