National Broadcasting Commission approves Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Radio transmission
The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has officially approved radio test transmission for Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) Abeokuta, on 99.7FM., an approval which qualifies the institution to join comity of campus radio in Nigeria
Penpushing reports that Head, Public Relations and Protocol of the institution, Yemi Ajibola made this known in a statement adding that the test transmission takes immediate effect and subsequently, will start full operation on the same frequency modulation as the “Voice of Development”.
The Acting Rector of the polytechnic, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji, while reacting to the development said the feat was in tandem with the vision of the State Government upon returning the Polytechnic to status quo.
Penpushing further reports that, he added that, the campus radio would not only serve as a practical medium for modern broadcast journalism but also enhance communication among the institution ecosystem through educational and developmental programmes both terrestrially and online via www.mapolyradio.com.
The Rector assured that, the radio station is taking off when the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) would be visiting the Polytechnic for re-accreditation of programmes and resource inspection of 17 new programmes by August this year.
