MY VISIT TO PRESIDENT BUHARI NOT TO DABBLE INTO OGUN ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS GOVERNORSHIP TICKET, SAYS PARAMOUNT RULER OF EGBALAND
This is coming just as another Palace High Chief, Sunday Olurotimi Oduntan exonerated the monarch on the allegation, saying the traditional ruler is not taking side on any candidate; rather he was with the President to appeal for peace in Ogun State.
Penpushing further reports that, Chief Oduntan in a statement said, ‘we wish to set the records straight here that Kabiyesi is not in support of any candidate. Kabiyesi went to see the President to appeal for peace in Ogun State and for the actors to settle their differences without any break down of law and order’
He added, ’before he(Alake) embarked on the trip this morning, HRM Kabiyesi Alake had extensive discussion with Akinrogun,Olusegun Osoba, Otunba Niyi Adebayo, HRM Kabiyesi Awujale of Ijebuland, HRM Kabiyesi Akarigbo of Remoland and others from both sides of the Ogun APC. He had the consent of both sides to go and see the President’

The Asiwaju Bamoofin Egbaland added, ’Kabiyesi Alake is not a card carrying member of any political party and has no basis to be involved in their political struggle. Kabiyesi Alake wants our people to know that APC is not the only party in Ogun State and he is a father to all candidates of all political parties’
Similarly, Chief Layi Labode who is Aare Baaroyin of Egbaland explained that details of the monarch visit will be made public on Monday on the sideline of the swearing-in of the New Chief Judge of Ogun State, coming up at the Oba Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
‘We have been following, with keen interest and responsibility, the news making round in the media, that the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, His Majesty, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, CFR and the Olu of Ilaro, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, had gone to Abuja to intercede in ongoing disagreement between Senator Ibikunle Amosun and APC National leadership, on the Ogun State APC Governorship ticket dispute, with President Muhammadu Buhari and APC leadership’
The royal father further explained that, he was very much aware of the interest of the Media and the public in such circumstance, but disassociated himself from such speculation, adding that he would speak at the appropriate time on Monday at the Oba Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.
