MY SUCCESSOR IS COMING TO REAP FRUITS OF MY LABOUR, SAYS GOVERNOR AMOSUN

The Governor  said he has  put in place and  completed all the things that the incoming led  administration  of Dapo Abiodun  needs to succeed, stating that, the new  administration is coming in to reap the benefits of his(Amosun)  administration.

Penpushing further reports that, Amosun who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government,  Barrister Adeoluwa  Taiwo  explained  reasons behind the  establishing  of the agency, which he said  is to among other things, attract new investments, facilitate socio-economic growth, create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive and boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the State.

The Governor who claimed to inherit a “failed” State from the administration of his predecessor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, however, said his successor (Abiodun) would be inheriting “the investment capital of Nigeria.”

“When we came in 2011, Ogun State appeared to have failed as a State. Investors were running away from the State because of the high level of insecurity in the State but today, the State is ranked 4th on the list of State with the ease of doing business”,Amosun said

“As at the last count, our activities as a government has attracted 473 mega companies which some investing as much as N2billion. Not only that, we took the IGR of the State from the paltry sum of N700million to N7billion per month”, he boasted

“But we are not relenting on all these achievements. We know we have been very successful, but we need to consolidate on the success we have achieved and that is why we are establishing this agency.” The agency along with other agencies and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry will assist investors, either big or small to ensure that their businesses succeed.”

Penpushing also reports that, the outgoing Governor, expressed optimism that, the incoming administration will not discard the Agency, “I believe that any administration will reverse any initiative or programme that will guarantee investment growth and boost the IGR of the State.”

 The Governor said he had sent a bill to the State House of Assembly seeking the establishment of the agency  by law, disclosing that although, the Agency was established through an Executive Order.
