My husband runs after anything in skirt’, I want marriage dissolution, wife tells court
A 44- year-old housewife, Oluwatoyin Falade, on Wednesday, prayed the customary court in Orile Agege, Lagos State to dissolve her 11-year-old marriage on grounds that her husband is a notorious flirt.
Penpushing reports that the woman, resident of 23, Tunde Davids Close, Agege, Lagos who has two children for her husband, Segun emphasized that he (husband) runs after anything in skirt, hence, she is fed up with him and the marriage.
The woman who disclosed that she has two children for her husband, whose ages are 8 and 11 respectively, told the court that her husband changes women anyhow and doesn’t respect her, declaring that if the court refused her prayer she was ready to run away with her children.
Penpushing further reports that the woman emphasising on the alleged infidelity of her husband, told the court that she has two girls who are 15 and 18 years respectively before marrying her husband and staying with them.
The woman who burst into tears said she was been cautious of what might happened to the girls, stressing that she does not trust her husband on that, because she is a flirt who runs after anything in skirt
“My husband is a flirt, he runs after anything in skirt. I had two girls before I married him and those girls are 15 and 18. They stay with me and I don’t trust my husband because he chases everything in skirt. My husband changes women anyhow and he doesn’t respect me. If the court doesn’t dissolve the union, I will run away with my kids,” she said.
Penpushing also reports that the disturbed woman said people mock her in the neighbourhood because of her husband’s infidelity, adding that the husband does not take care of her and the children, and that chasing women and ladies has become the order of the day for him.
The 46-year-old husband who is a Lagos State Judiciary worker in his response admitted to infidelity, but pledged to turn a new leaf, and denied allegation of not taking care of the wife and the children, as well as paying their school fees
“I will not lie, I bring in different women to the house but I am ready to change. I have been begging her to please forgive me. My Lord, you can see that my wife is robust and fresh. It is obvious that she is not suffering. I bought her a phone recently and I pay the children’s school fees,” he said.
Penpushing reports that the embattled husband said he was not ready for the dissolution of the marriage with a promise to make things right if given another chance, while the Court’s President, Adewale Adegoke, told both parties to be at peace with each other and adjourned the case until May 30, 2023 for Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanism.
