
Muslim Ummah commends Olowu for gracing south-west meeting
The Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN), has commended the Olowu of Owu Oba (Prof) Saka Adelola Matemilola for attending the General-Purpose Committee (GPC) Meeting of the organization.
Penpushing reports that the President of the Muslim organization, Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo gave the commendation in a statement and urged the monarch who is the President- General of Ogun State Muslim Council (OGMC) not to relent towards developmental growth of the body.
The President described the meeting held on Sunday, January 18,2026 at the General-Purpose Committee (GPC) Secretariat in Ibadan, Oyo State capital as a landmark, being the first of such attended by a President-General of Ogun State Muslim Council.

Penpushing further reports that Oladejo recalled that the late Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona could not attend any of the meetings throughout his tenure as President-General, and therefore, on behalf of all members thanked the Olowu of Owu for his presence
The traditional ruler in response commended Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) for championing the cause of Muslims and Islam in the South-West, while pledging his continued support for the group.
Meanwhile, the Ogun State Muslim Council under the leadership of the President-General used the opportunity of the meeting to present gifts to the immediate past Executive Secretary of the body, Prof. Muslih Tayo Yahya on his recent retirement.
