MURDER OF FEDERAL LAWMAKER, OLATOYE POLITICALLY MOTIVATED, SAYS FAMILY
The bereaved family on Tuesday in an interview with journalists in Ibadan, the Oyo State Capital, insisted that the assassination of Olatoye has political undertone and the police authorities should conduct proper investigation into the matter.
Hear him “With due respect, I think that incident has a political undertone, at that time Sugar was killed. Did Sugar go to Oja’ba to buy yam? Or did he go to Bodija to buy beans? It was during election, and he was coming back from where he went to perform his civic responsibility as a good citizen of this country and as a federal legislator, his killing has much importance to his political murderers’.
“So I am debunking the statement with due respect, made by the police AIG that his killing was not politically motivated.
Penpushing further reports that, Olatoye however commended the police for their efforts made in their investigation and the arrests made so far, adding,” I am debunking the statement with due respect, made by the police AIG that his killing was not politically motivated’.
He pointed out that if the police believed the incident was not politically motivated, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Government should steer clear of the case, adding that those behind his brother’s murder should be fished out and made to face the wrath of the law.
“I want to say categorically that Sugar was the breadwinner of this Olatoye family and they have taken him away. What is now our gain?, and if this incident is not curbed, they will still do it to other members of the family”.
Penpushing also reports that, Olatoye, however appeal to the Federal Government and the Inspector General of Police to take note that the killing of his brother must not go like that, adding that he is going to sacrifice anything to get those who killed his younger brother”.
