Motorcylist, passenger killed in expressway accident
A commercial motorcyclist and his pillion have been killed in a multiple crash involving a motorcycle and a bus along Ore-Benin-Ijebu-Ode expressway, when the driver of the vehicle lost control, as a result of burst tyre.
Penpushing reports that, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Sector Commander, Ogun State, Ahmed Umar confirmed on Saturday, adding that the vehicle on motion rammed into the motorcycle which drove against traffic
‘The driver lost control of the vehicle as one of the rear tyres of the bus burst while on motion and rammed into the motorcycle which drove against traffic. The motorcyclist and his pillion lost their lives in the crash’, he said
Penpushing further reports that, Umar said the corps patrol operatives rescued the injured and took them to Hope Clinic, J4 for prompt medical attention while the dead were taken to the mortuary.
The Sector Commander, however, said as at the time of filing this report,there is no obstruction to free flow of traffic on the road, and advise road users to shun route violations, stressing that it consequences are usually fatal, and called on drivers to avoid using expired tyres on their vehicles
Penpushing also reports that, the sector commander disclosed that aside from the dead in the accident which occured in Alafia area at J4 axis along the road one person escaped unhurt
