Missing toddler: Pastor bags life imprisonment
A popular Pastor and founder of Sotitobire Praising Chapel, Babatunde Alfa, has been sentenced to life imprisonment over the missing of a one-year-old boy, Gold Kolawole in his church in November last year
Penpushing reports that the cleric was sentence by the High Court sitting in Akure,Ondo State Capital on Tuesday alongside five others, having been found guilty of the mysterious disappearance of the toddler.
The accused were tried on three counts, including conspiracy to commit felony to wit: aiding and abetting kidnapping, aiding and abetting to kidnap and destroying evidence, and were found guilty of all charges.
Penpushing further reports that, the clergyman whose church is located at Oshinle quarters area of Akure, was accused by the missing child’s parents of kidnap and the boy has not been seen till date.
The cleric had earlier told the court that he prayed and embarked on a vigil to find the child, but the State Security Service provided two video clips as evidence against prophet, where he admitted knowing the whereabouts of the boy and confirmed that he told the parents of the missing boy to come through the right channel to beg so he could pray for the recovery of the boy.
Penpushing also reports that, the Presiding judge, Justice Olusegun Odusola,while delivering judgement declared that the circumstantial evidence presented by the prosecution proved beyond doubt, emphasizing that the cleric and others were guilty therefore sentenced the accused to life imprisonment.
