METROPOLITAN BROADCASTING SERVICES PARTNERS WITH PENPUSHING ONLINE NEWSPAPERS

The organizations according to the modalities contained in a Memoranda of Understanding(MOU) agreed to  ensure that the principles of basic tenets of journalism are adhered to, reiterating the core values, which include integrity ,competence, industry and compassion.

The managements also consented to the need to seek truth and report it as fully as possible, as well as inform, engage and educate the public in a clear and compelling way on significant issues, emphasizing  honesty, accuracy, fairness and courage in gathering, reporting and interpreting  information as well as give voice to the voiceless.

The agreement tagged ,’Beneficial Partnership’ also resolved to guard vigorously the essential stewardship role of a free press  in an open society, seek out and disseminate competing perspectives without being unduly influenced by those who would use their power or position to suppress public interest.

Similarly, the MOU considered the need for the two organizations to remain free of associations and activities capable of compromising  integrity or damage credibility, taking into cognisance that good ethical decisions require individual sense of responsibility enriched by collaborative efforts.

It was also agreed that, the media outfits would be compassionate for those affected by their actions, treat sources,subjects and colleagues as humanbeings deserving of respect,not merely as means to an end, with the knowledge that gathering and reporting information may cause harm or discomfort, but balance those negatives by choosing alternatives that maximize the publication of the truth.

The managements also agreed to be utilizing materials from each medium to the benefits of the two organisations, with conviction that the partnership mark the beginning of mutually beneficial and satisfying relationship.
