Media Practitioner, Dupe Idowu prepares for glorious exit from civil service
A journalist with Ogun State Ministry of Information Mrs Dupe Idowu, is set to retire from the civil service after a meritorious 35 years’ service, and on Tuesday kick-started her exit from the service with a visit to Hansen Centre,(Leper colony) located in Iberekodo, Abeokuta, where she donated household and consumable items to the children of the centre
Penpushing reports that, Idowu accompanied by family, friends and other well-wishers were received by the residents of the centre, which include the children and distributed items which include rice, indomine, spaghetti, tea, milk, toothpaste, detergents, biscuits, drinks, snacks,soft drinks and cake among others
The veteran journalist, was also accompanied by Santa Claus (Father Christmas) to celebrate the day with the inmates as part of Christmas celebration season, while the hosts were all full of joy, having considered them as worthy
Penpushing further reports that, the inmates could not hide their excitement as they engaged in profuse singing, dancing and thanksgiving in appreciation of the visit and donations made to them by the retired media practitioner
The retiree and mother of two, while speaking at the event explained that her love for children propelled her to extend hands of fellowship and gestures to the children who are also inmates of the centre, and appreciated God for seeing her through her career as a civil servant
Penpushing also reports that, the fulfilled woman assured that, the gestures would be continue exercise, stressing that by the grace of God, putting smiles on the faces of children and the less privileged has been her joy.
The children and other residents of the centre in appreciation of the gestures, prayed for God’s continued protection and blessing for the donor pointing out that she had brought joy to them at this time of the year.
Penpushing reports that, the Chairman of Idea Group, Hansen Centre, Iberekodo, in Abeokuta, Mr Jimoh Ahmed lauded the retiring information manager for her kindness and hand of fellowship, just as he prayed for unlimited access to God’s grace in her future endeavours.
Meanwhile, the programme of the final exit of Idowu from the Ogun State Government service has been designed to hold on Thursday with 2-hour praise and thanksgiving service, scheduled to hold at Redeem Christians Church of God (RCCG), House of Parish, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta between 11am-1pm
