Masquerade arrested for violating rule against coronavirus spread

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested a masquerade for allegedly violating social distance recommendation against the spread of coronavirus.

Penpushing reports that, the Command Public Relations Officer Abimbola Oyeyemi made this known on Monday in a statement, adding that the masquerade was arrested at ijeja area of Abeokuta following a complaint from members of the public

The police said the reports  has it  that some people have gathered in hundreds at ijeja area under the pretence that they were having masquerade festival creating fear of massive spreading of the disease in the mind of people in the area

“Upon the report, policemen from ibara division moved to the area and warned the people to disperse but the masequrade confronted the policemen and threatening to deal with them if they insist on dispersing his followers”,Oyeyemi said.

Penpushing further reports that,he added further that, the masquerade was subsequently arrested and taken to the station where he was warned to be law abiding before he was released to a reliable surety.
