Man with no fixed address bags 4 months for constituting nuisance in Abuja
A man, Sabiu Akilu of no fixed address has been sentenced to four months in prison for constituting a nuisance, having pleaded to a count charge against him, when he was arraigned before a Karu Upper Area Court in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory (FCT)
Penpushing reports that the prosecutor, Olarewaju Osho, told the court that the convict was arrested by a team of police officers from Asokoro Police Station on 15 March, adding that the team led by Courage Erhabor, while on patrol, arrested him and three others at Kasuan Dere, Asokoro Village, while constituting a nuisance.
The prosecutor informed the court that the convict had been warned several times to stop constituting a nuisance, explaining that during the police investigation, the convict could not give a satisfactory account of himself.
Penpushing further reports that the alleged offence contravenes Section 199 of the Penal Code, and the judge, Justice Ishaq Hassan, having convicted him, however, gave an option of N10, 000 fine and warned him to desist from the crime.
