MAN 72, SEVEN OTHERS ARRESTED OVER ALLEGED SPIRITUAL SCAM

He said the suspects  are 419 syndicate that have defrauded many unsuspecting members of the public of their hard earned money, adding that they were arrested following an information from a member of public who reported that some men just arrived the town and that their movement was suspicious.

‘Upon the information, the DPO Ago iwoye Division CSP Ade Adedoyin directed his detectives to be on the trail of the said men and technically profile and investigate them. The detectives succeeded in trailing them to their shrine where they were swindling their unsuspecting victims whom they were deceiving of rendering one spiritual help or the other for consequent upon which many have been made to fraudulently part with millions of Naira’.

Penpushing also reports that, Oyeyemi said, the suspects were apprehended and taken to Ago Iwoye Divisional Headquarters, where they were interrogated and confessed to be fraudsters,adding that they fooled their victims to swindle them

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu has ordered a thorough investigation into the activities of the syndicate and charge them to a Court of competent jurisdiction as soon as the investigation is completed, and  equally advised members of the public to be wary of the antics of fraudsters pretending to be spiritualists.
