Lufuwape community in ogun state raises alarm over invasion by land grabbers

The indigenes of Lufuwape community located in Obafemi-Owode Local Government area of Ogun State have raised alarm over invasion of their land by suspected land speculators, who they alleged  have subjected residents to nightmare experiences.

Penpushing reports that, the Community Development Association(CDA), Vice Chairman, Mike Opia made this known at a press conference held on Sunday in the community, lamenting that the suspected land grabbers were been aided by some security personnel to torment residents over their landed properties

The Vice Chairman passionately appealed to the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun to come to their aid, adding that number of the buildings under construction were forcefully pull down at gun point by the bandits.

Penpushing reports that, Opia recalled that in one of the attack launched by the bandits, he was hit by bullets from the land speculators, adding that number of residents were also victims of the violence attack, adding that residents cannot sleep with their two eyes closed anymore.

The Vice Chairman who showed number of building foundations destroyed by the bandits to journalists said, the community had made several reports to the Ogun State Police Command, lamenting that no feedback on the petition till date.

‘We started experiencing this bad taste from the landgrabbers since 2010 till date, these guys are aided by some security personnel, many of them established to be coming from neighbouring Lagos State. We have written to police command, but no feedback till today’, Opia said

Penpushing also reports that, the Community Development Association alleged the gang leader who he called Moruta Afolabi as evading arrest, and still walking freely on the street, having being established to be responsible for the shooting of residents.

‘We are using this medium to passionately appealed to our Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun and the government of the state to come to our aid, before the bandits ruin our community. We have been suffering in silence since 2010, and we cannot bear the humiliation and threat any longer’, he emphasized

Penpushing reports that, Opia accompanied by other elders of the community said one of the residents identified as Adebayo Omorenu was during one of the attacks, kidnapped by the landgrabbers with the aid of some suspected cultists
