Lockdown: Oke-Ona Egba traditional council donates pallatives for residents

The traditional council of  Oke-Ona Egba on Wednesday donated food items and other pallatives to residents of the ten communities under it’s jurisdiction in Egbaland.

Penpushing reports that, the Osile Oke-Ona, Oba (Dr) Adedapo Tejuoso who initiated the donations said, the gestures were also extended to other sections in Egbaland comprising: Ake, Gbagura, Owu and Ibara communities.

The Chairman of the traditional council disclosed that the food items comprises of 200 kilograms of garri, rice,beans,bags of salt and cartoons of indomie noodles among others,as well as 250 face masks to each township and cash gift for 600 elderly people.

Penpushing further reports that the monarch while speaking on coronavirus said, the cause was as a result of sins committed and perpetrated by humanbeing against God, stressing that, it is to serve as lessons for humanity to get closer to God, and realised His existence, contrary to disbelief by some human beings.

“Our sins responsible for coronavirus, God wants to proof a point for us, it is high time we move closer to God. As it is now and at this moment,all of us are in prison, the coronavirus prison and this is as a result of our disobedience to God”, Tejuoso emphasised

“We are in coronavirus prison all over the world.  We are now seeing the consequences of our misbehaviour towards God. The President did not take keys of our homes from us, but put us under lockdown. Let us retrace our steps now and ask for forgiveness. God will forgive us”,the traditional rulers declared.

Penpushing also reports that, Iyalode of yorubaland, Iyalode Alaba Lawson in her remarks, expressed appreciation to the royal father for the initiative, adding that he(Osile) has shown another leadership quality, having thought of the pallatives for his subjects at this trying period.

The Iyalode who is also a foremost high Chief in Oke-Ona Egba Kingdom called on other well meaning Nigerians to emulate the gestures, in the interest of the populace, and  have regard for welfare of the vulnerable and less privileged in the society
