Lockdown: Ogun state traffic agency deploys operatives to checkmate inter-state travels

The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corp (TRACE) has deployed operatives and patrol vehicles to border lines and inter-state routes, to enforce the new transport guidelines of the  state government, as a measure against the spread of coronavirus pandemic.

Penpushing reports that, the Chief Executive Officer, Commander Olaseni Ogunyemi, in a statement on Wednesday explained that the deployment was in collaboration with other sister agencies, to ensure strict compliance by the people.

The release further instructed all area Commanders, Division Commanders and Unit Commanders to commence execution of strategic enforcement plan as directed by the government.

The restricted routes and borderlines include, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, the old Lagos-Sango, Ifo/Abeokuta expressway, Interchange-Sagamu, Ijebu-Ode/Benin-Ore expressway and Abeokuta-Odeda-Ibadan highway.

Penpushing further reports that,others are Atan-Lusada-Agbara-Badagry highway, Papalanto-Owode-Idiroko highway, Ijebu-Ode Agbowa-Ikorodu highway, Ijebu-Ife-Ilese-Ijebu-Ode -Oru and Rounda-Abeokuta-Olorunda-Ayetoro-Imeko-Ilara  border.

The statement added that, the command warned members of the public to adhered strictly to the curfew, stressing that any offender caught during this restriction order would be prosecuted and vehicles impounded would not be released until the expiration of the COVID-19 pandemic.

‘The general public were therefore warned to adhere strictly to the curfew imposed by the Federal Government from 8:00pm to 6:00am daily across the federation, as any offender caught during this restriction order would be prosecuted and vehicles impounded would not be released until the expiration of the COVID-19 pandemic’.
