Lockdown fallout: Ogun State residents raise alarm over robbery attacks
The residents of four communities comprising Okenla, Araromi,Oke Ireke and Araromi in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State are now under serious apprehension, as armed robbers took advantage of the lockdown to launch attack on their households.
Penpushing reports that, the bandits which also alleged to include suspected cultists have in the past few days become thorn in the flesh of the residents of the communities, as they engaged in incessant bloody clash that put the communities under fear.
The residents as the situation became unabated have also resolved to self-help, organizing themselves into vigilante group with decision to henceforth engage the notorious bandits who use the lockdown period at night to rob them at will.
Penpushing further reports that, a check at these communities showed that, residents are also armed to teeth to prevent further robbery operations, and were seen keeping vigil with burn fire at various spots in the communities, as a sign of warning for the hoodlums.
The landlords in the affected communities, investigation revealed have advised all their tenants and other residents not to sleep with their two eyes closed again, but readily prepared for a counter attack against the bandits.
