Local Government election in Enugu State peaceful

The local government election in Enugu State on Saturday recorded  relative peace at the ongoing Local government Council election in Enugu State, while the Governor Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi who arrived  at his Amube Ohom, Orba Ward II in Udenu Local Government Area at 11:10am cast his vote 11:15 am.

Penpushing reports that, Ugwuanyi who commended people of the State for coming out enmass to vote for their choice of candidate, urged the candidates who would emerge winner to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.

“Today we cast vote to elect our choice of Chairman and Councillors to pilot the third tiers of government. I thank you all for coming out in mass to vote for your choice. I assure you that anybody who emerges the winner of this 2020 local government election will work with the mind of his people”, Ugwuanyi said.

Penpushing further reports that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Udenu  chairmanship candidate, Hon Solomon Izuchukwu Onah while briefing journalists shortly after casting vote at his Umuezejor pulling unit 15, commended people of his area for coming out in mass to vote for Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, stressing that he would bring development and security to the grassroots.

The Candidate, expressed confidence that  people came out in enmass to vote for his party, stressing  that his party campaigned massively to attract massive votes, adding that the party has done enough to alleviate Enugu indigenes from poverty.

“I have voted. Our people came out in mass to vote because Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has done enough for the state. We really campaigned very well to get massive vote.

“Our campaign was awesome; we reached to all the grassroots we are supposed to reach. Our material came at the right time. When I assumed office as Transition Chairman, I gave my people security, infrastructure and whatever.If I come in as executive chairman I know the mind of my governor to the people. I will bring it down to the remote village to make sure they get what governor has for them”, he said.

Penpushing also reports that the member representing Nsukka/ Igboeze south federal constituency, Dr. Patrick Asadu cast his vote at about 10: 40am, saying that Enugu was known for its peaceful nature adding that what they did in the state was to encourage the dividend of democracy mostly at the grassroots.

The politician said that Peoples Democratic Party,PDP had worked so hard to win this council election as the  only party that campaigned for the election
