LOAN GUARANTOR COMMITS SUICIDE IN IBADAN

The source added that following disappearance of the debtor,  Shakirat who is the guarantor was forced to be paying back the loan, and at a stage she couldn’t meet up while anxiety set in, and the woman resolved to take her own life.

Penpushing further reports that, the deceased husband, said he was unaware of the problem until Friday morning, and was said to have told the police that on his return home that afternoon, he asked their son whereabout of his mother, and when the boy said he didn’t know, he started checking the rooms in the house until he saw his wife dangling from the ceiling of one of the rooms.

The Divisional Police Officer in charge of Apete Police Station later led detectives to the scene of the incident, while the family of the deceased said that there would be need to perform some rituals before the body could be detached from the rope hanging it from the ceiling.

Meanwhile, when contacted, the Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Shina Olukolu, confirmed the incident, adding that preliminary investigation indicated that the woman committed suicide.
