Leadership by example: Ogun state traditional submits self for coronavirus test
The traditional ruler of Akinale of Egbaland, Oba Olufemi Ogunleye has led his subjects and residents of his domain located in Ewekoro local government area of Ogun State to undergo coronavirus test.
Penpushing reports that, the monarch, a renowned journalist in what was described as leadership by example submitted himself for the test, at the ground provided by the Ogun State health officials to know his health status and encourage others to do same
The Towulade Akinale disabused the fear of his subjects that the test might lead to their incarceration which would prevent them from celebrating Christmas and New Year in their houses ,stressing that, ‘’the fear of ‘koro’ is the beginning of hope for longevity.’.
Penpushing further reports that, the royal father said it was a good development for the authorities to have considered his domain as one of the test grounds, and gave assurance that having submitted himself for the test, he was optimistic that his subjects would emulate him.
The royal father also encouraged his subjects and residents in his domain, to make use of the opportunity and submitted themselves for the test, stressing that only people with sound health lives long.
Penpushing reports that, the health officials, explained that even if any of them had a positive result, they would bring to them the necessary medication rather than take them for isolation, stressing that the exercise was to conduct random checks on the people of the rural areas as part of the design to nib in the bud the spread of the pandemic.
