Late President Yar’Adua’s mother dies at 100

The mother of late Nigerian President Umaru Yar’Adua, Dada Yar’Adua has been reported dead at age of 100 years on Monday after a protracted illness, while the death came 14 years after the demise of the former president and 27 years after her senior son, Shehu Yar’Adua, a military general who died in December 8, 1997

Penpushing reports that a media aide to Abdulaziz Yar’Adua, one of the deceased’s sons, Abdul Hassan, made this known in a brief statement, adding that the funeral prayer for the deceased will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the residence of Musa Yar’adua in Katsina.

The Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has commiserated with the Yar’Adua family over the passing of the woman and also extended his condolences to the Katsina Central Senator, Abdulaziz Yar’Adua, the people of Katsina State, and the many lives the late matriarch touched.

Penpushing further reports that Tinubu extolled the deceased compassion, faith, honesty, and good fellowship legacy, and prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul and affirmed that the beloved and remarkable matriarch of the Yar’Adua family will always be remembered for the support, peace, joy, and comfort she offered to many.
