LAND SPECULATORS SHOT BRICKLAYER IN FORCEFUL BID TO TAKE OVER LAND IN OGUN

The attackers were alleged to have accused the company of encroaching on the landed property of their clients, and forcefully chased away all workers found on the land, under the guise of reclaiming the land from the company.

Penpushing further reports that, the attackers allegedly shot the bricklayer, as other fled with various degree of injuries, while the alleged thugs also carted away three motorcycles belonging to the site workers.

The victims were later rushed to the hospital, while as at the time of filing this report, the company official, Alexander Waheed had written petition the Commissioner of Police, Bashir Makama to addressed and investigate the alleged crime, as a way to bring perpetrators to justice.

Penpushing also reports that, the petition  signed by Alexander, fingered  one Wasiu Bello as the arrowhead of  the attack and called on the authorities  to arrest and prosecute him and his accomplice, alleged to be  Ayokun Umar “for act of thuggery, threat to life and malicious damage” among others.

The petitioner argued that the property company had purchased the disputed landed property in six villages of Falokun, Omusokun, Abipagun, Sorin, Penpen and Abule Oru and ratified all the necessary title documents, including the Deed of Sale and Deeds of Agreement between year 2003 and 2005.

“But when we visited the site in March this year, we discovered that there were encroachment and that forced us to erect fences on the land. While we were trying to complete fencing, Wasiu Bello suddenly appeared with the hoodlums and started attacking our workers and pulling down our fences”, the petition said.

Penpushing reports that, the company official added further that Wasiu’s biological father was among the family members who sold the land and signed the title documents for the company, and also passionately appealed to the police boss to use his good office towards ensuring that justice is served on the matter.
