KILLING OF IRANIAN GENERAL: NIGERIA POLICE ISSUE NATIONWIDE SECURITY ALERT AGAINST PROTEST

 The statement issued from the Force Headquarters by the Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba reads, “have been directed to ensure strategic deployments of both overt and covert police operatives to ensure adequate security and safety of citizens, foreigners especially diplomats and diplomatic missions domiciled in Nigeria as well as the protection of critical national assets,”

Penpushing further reports that, the statement added that, the police boss, assured all Nigerians of adequate security as they return to work from long Christmas and New Year holidays starting Monday but was not specific whether there were specific threats identified in connection to the killing of the Iranian military chief.

The death of Soleimani, was on Friday followed with widespread protests by Muslims in Tehran and other Middle East cities, while similar protest took place by Shiite faithful in Abuja, the Nigerian Capital on Friday afternoon.

Penpushing also reports that of the assassination of Soleimani near Baghdad International Airport in Iraq has continued to send ripples across the world, but the United States of America(USA) said the Iranian military chief was killed to avenge both his past deadly attacks against Americans and forestall future assaults.

The Iran authorities in response dismissed America’s explanation as an afterthought and vowed to go after American interests across the world.
