Kano state police command declares man who caged son for 15 years wanted

The Kano State Police Command has declared wanted a father, Ibrahim Lawan for alleged illegally confined his biological son for fifteen years in a dilapidated room in Sheka Quarters, Kumbotso local government area in the state.

Penpushing reports that, the Command Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Haruna made this known in a statement; adding that the 40 year old father kept the victim, Sheka Lawan for over one decades without proper feeding and health care.

The Command wishes to inform members of the general public that on the 16/08/2020 at about 1100hrs, information received revealed that one Ibrahim Lawan ‘m’ aged 40 years old of  Sheka Quarters, Kumbotso LGA Kano State was illegally confined for fifteen (15) years in a dilapidated room by  his Biological father, one Lawan Sheka ‘m’ of the same address inside his house without proper feeding and health care.

Penpushing further reports that, the statement added that, the command’s medical team,as well as team of the operation puff-adder on receipt of the information raced to the scene, and subsequently rescued the boy and rushed to hospital where he is being admitted

‘The Command’s Medical Team as well as Team of Operation Puff-Adder led by SP Magaji Musa was raised and immediately swung in to action. The victim was rescued and rushed to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital Kano and admitted’, Haruna said.

Penpushing also reports that, the statement disclosed that,one suspect identified as  Binta Sulaiman  a step mother to the victim was arrested, adding that the father has since being on the run..

‘Effort is in progress to arrest the father of the victim who is currently at large. However, the Command’s Commissioner of Police Habu A. Sani, ordered the case be transferred to State Criminal Investigations Department (SCID) for discreet investigations’, Haruna emphasised.
