Ogun State House of Assembly Speaker, Oluomo re-elected lawmaker to represent constituency

The Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly Rt Hon Kunle Oluomo has been re-elected to represent Ifo State Constituency having scored 7,546 to defeat his rival Yusuf Ogundele of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) who recorded 6,596 votes.
 
Penpushing reports that it is recalled that the election earlier conducted on March 28,2023 was declared inconclusive, hence, need for supplementary which was held on Saturday April 15, 2023.
 
The Returning Officer of the  Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), Prof Richard Sobayo at the end of the poll declared Oluomo winner adding that a total of 18,378 was for accredited voters while 95,448 was for the total registered voters .
Penpushing further reports that Sobayo explained that a supplementary election, held in poling unit 4, ward 1, Ifo constituency 1 on Saturday  was won by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with 185 votes while All Progressives Congress (APC) recorded 167 votes.
The  All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Oluomo had earlier  led during the first poll with 969  and having garnered 185 votes at the supplementary defeated the Ogundele of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) as the duly elected lawmaker for the constituency with a margin of 950 votes
Penpushing also reports that the victory of Oluomo pave way for him representing his Ifo State Constituency 1, for the fourth time at the Ogun State House of Assembly, where he is currently the Speaker
