June 12 celebration: Ogun state government organizes prayer for late Abiola, as Richard Akinola delivers lecture
The June 12 annual anniversary scheduled for Wednesday is to hold at the family house of late winner of the 1993 Presidential election, Moshood Abiola, with a special memorial prayer to commemorate the lecture designed for the day.
Penpushing reports that the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi made this known in a statement on Monday explaining that the ceremony will hold at Oja Agbo, Gbagura in Abeokuta, the state capital.
The statement added that the theme of the lecture is “June 12 Defining Moment in The Democratic Development in Nigeria” and take place at the Hubert Ogunde Hall, June 12 Cultural Centre Kuto, Abeokuta to be delivered by a Public Affairs Analyst, Mr. Richard Akinnola, who is also a renowned journalist
‘Ogun State Government has lined up activities to mark this year’s Democracy Day on Wednesday, June 12. A special memorial prayer will hold at the family house of the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola at Ọja Agbo, Gbágùrá, Abeokuta by 8:00 am’.
‘This will be followed by a commemorative lecture with the theme: “June 12 Defining Moment in The Democratic Development in Nigeria” to be delivered by a Public Affairs Analyst, Mr. Richard Akinnola, beginning from 10: 00 am. at the Hubert Ogunde Hall, June 12 Cultural Centre Kuto, Abeokuta. Invited guests to be seated by 9:30 am’, the statement emphasised.
