Joju Fadairo becomes Asiwaju of ifo land
A High Chief in Egbaland, Chief Joju Fadairo is to be installed as the new Asiwaju of Ifo land in Ifo local government area of Ogun State, a ceremony scheduled to hold Saturday January, 27, 2024, and will be transmit live by Penpushing online television
Penpushing reports that former President Olusegun Obasanjo who is Balogun of Owu, is the father of the day who will lead other dignitaries to the occasion designed to take place at the palace of the traditional ruler, Olu of Ifo
The installation ceremony on completion will be followed with a reception to take place at the private residence of Fadairo located at 5 Sina Egberongbe Crescent, Government Reservation Area (GRA), Ibara, Abeokuta
Penpushing further reports that the incoming Asiwaju of Ifo , who doubles as Fiwagbayi of Egbaland takes over the leadership after the demise of the immediate former Asiwaju, Chief Sule Onabiyi which occurred on Sunday 22nd of October, 2023 and has being buried according to Islamic injuction
The record has it that Ifo town has an area of 521 km2 (201 sq mi) and a population of 698,837 at the 2006 census, while the ancient town is connected to nearby Lagos by a railway that was completed in 1899, with a length of 77 kilometers (48 mi). Roads connect it to Lagos as well as Abeokuta, Ilaro, Shagamu, Itori, and Ketou.
