JAW -JAW AFRICA MOURNS TOSIN BUCKNOR
“The Management of JAW JAW AFRICA received the shocking news of the death of Ace broadcaster and Public Speaker, Tosin Bucknor. It is important to state clearly that this is a great loss for the African continent’.
‘Area Mama’ was an exemplary Public Speaker who believed in dialogue in place of violence. African youths must begin to take a cue from the broadcast career of Tosin. We must begin to realise that public speaking is a viable tool for conflict prevention and resolution’.
The management added further, ‘at a time like this, we must continue to commiserate with the family while praying that God gives them the strength to bear the loss.”
Penpushing recalled that Oluwatosin Bucknor, a journalist with Inspiration FM, was found dead by her husband, Aurelien Boyer, a French national, when he arrived home from work on Monday night.
The deceased who died at 37 was a graduate of law from the University of Lagos. She was born with sickle cell anaemia which prompted her to start ‘These Genes Project’ to help people with the condition.
Penpushing also recalled that Oluwatosin and Aurélien Boyer had their traditional wedding in November 2015 surrounded by family and friends in Lagos followed by a white wedding in France.
The late journalist started her On-air personality duties with Tee-A at Eko FM., and was at a time an intern at Cool FM where she hosted the ‘Fun Hour Show’ on Saturdays. She joined Top Radio after her youth service in 2009 as the only female handling a morning show.
Penpushing also recalled that in her lifetime, she was nominated for several awards including Future Awards, ELOY Awards, and Best of Nollywood.
