IYALODE YORUBALAND, ALABA LAWSON HOLDS THANKSGIVING SERVICE FOR SUCCESSFUL TENURE AS CHAMBERS PRESIDENT

Penpushing reports that, the Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ),Ogun States Council was led by the Chairman, Caretaker Committee, Kayode Taiwo, as well as General Managers of various media oraginations The first female President of National Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Alaba Lawson in her speech expressed appreciation to God for being with her throughout her tenure.

Penpushing also reports that, Lawson, who is the Iyalode of Yorubaland, used the occasion calling on the private sectors to as a matter of necessity partner with the Federal Government to tackle the economic challenges rocking the country. ‘I am openly appreciating God for being there for me, throughout my two year tenure as the first female President of Naccima. I travelled all over the world, and Jehovah has been with me, It is not in my making, but God’

“The organised private sector should support the government in the fight to surmount economic challenges in the country”, she added’

Penpushing reports that, the Provost of the Church, Revd Adeyemi Adeniji, described the Iyalode as a fellow worthy of emulation, pointing out that, she had turned around, the chambers positively,as well as contributing to businesses across the country, with her proactive nature.’

The cleric further noted that, Lawson is a known employer of labour, who has put smiles on faces of many people, in providing jobs for them, just as he urged the worshippers to make use of their talents giving to them, for the purpose of appreciating God, adding that ‘there is a time is coming for us to give testimony of our dealings after our end on earth’’

Penpushing further reports that, the clergyman while reading from Matthew 25:14-30, with the theme: Be A Good Instrument, said “for the purpose of making a good report and reckoning when the time comes, there will also be a time when we will give reports of our dealings when on earth, so everyone must make use of the talents that he or she is given by God’,’

The cleric who also challenged leaders in the country to use their leadership position to promote the good will of the society, stressed that they (leader) would give account of their work, adding that, “Christian faithfuls should also endeavour to make use of their God’s given talents for the purpose of making change in the society”.’
