PRESIDENCY FORCED AMINAT ZAKARI ON ELECTORAL COMMISSION AT A SECRET MEETING, SAYS FAYOSE

The controversial former Governor declared that the People Democratic Party (PDP) and other political parties in Nigeria no longer have trust in the electoral umpire to conduct free, fair and credible elections come 2019

Penpushing further reports that, Fayose described the appointment of Zakari as the Head of National Collation Center for 2019 Presidential election as ‘moral burden’, noting that it was heartbreaking for the ruling party to force the cousin of the President on the electoral umpire.

Hear him “Let me tell you why they brought Aminat Zakari. APC employed consultants to conduct opinion polls and largely the parameter was that what happened in 2015 may likely repeat itself in 2018.

“They found out that in 2014, President Buhari a Muslim from the North and Jonathan a Christian from the South. Now President Buhari, a Muslim from the North and Atiku Abubakar is also a Muslim from the North. They went further and found out that Buhari is a Fulani man from the North and Atiku Abubakar is a also a Fulani man from the North. INEC has told the whole world they would conduct a credible election.

Fayose reiterated that it amazed him thatIndependent National Electoral Commission( INEC) Chairman could announced Zakari as the person to collate 2019 election results, stating that,”when they realized they cannot trust the INEC Chairman again. They now told the INEC Chairman that the only option left for them to believe is with them was to go and announced Aminat Zakari as the collation officer.

“The meeting took place at the first lady’s chambers in the Villa. Don’t ask me how I got to know about it, that is not your business. That was how the INEC chairman agreed to make sure he would announce that woman’s name. I will give you other revelations later. I won’t say everything today. So I am not surprised in what any of the REC might be doing. We have don’t have confidence in INEC again’.

Penpushing also reports that, Fayose added further that the government of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is truly an inconclusive government which he had never seen, stressing that, “you cannot see anything good in INEC overseeing by the current leadership of our country. What we saw in the last few days by the appointment of Aminat Zakari is a moral burden”.

The South-West Chairman of the party, Dr. Eddy Olafeso and the Gubernatorial Candidate of the party in Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde in their remarks accused the ruling party of having no plan for campaign but to rig the elections.
