Iyalode Alaba Lawson tasks womenfolk on focused determination to be relevant in society

The Iyalode of Yorubaland, Iyalode Alaba Lawson has called on girl-child and women to be focused and determined on how to become great in life, through qualitative education and hardwork, adding that these would bring them to limelight positively.
Penpushing reports that, Lawson gave the advice while speaking as convener of the 2022 International Women’s Day, organized by the Naccima Business Women Group (NAWORG) in collaboration with Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ),Ogun State Chapter and Ogun State Women Sheabutter Golden Farmers Cooperative Multi-Purpose Society
The renowned educationist emphasized that, education remain only legacy for better future and tasked the school children to show commitment, stressing that, being a girl or woman does not mean they are not or cannot be relevant in the society
‘Your foundation will determine your strength, if you lay good foundation; the foundation will stand, if you lay weak foundation it will crumble. You must be well focused, and that makes you great. I was not born with silver spoon, I saw an opportunity and make use of it, so use every second to be focused’, she said
Penpushing further reports that, the women leader said it is high time women break the bias and barriers, explaining that, women are not out to compete with men, but to work together for the betterment of the society
‘’Let us break the bias and barriers. We are not competing with men, but what we want is to work together. Working together is an avenue for better future. There should be a team work. Women are better managers’, she emphasized
Penpushing also reports that, the women leader appealed to National Assembly on need to give womenfolk, the chance and opportunity for effective participation in governance, stressing that women are the best managers
‘I want to advise the National Assembly to give women chance. We are better managers. Let us them give us chance in governance, we can manage it better. Women are the best managers, we can do it better’, she stated
