Itesiwaju Ire-Akari Cooperative Society holds maiden annual general meeting, re-elects serving officers

The Itesiwaju Ire-Akari Cooperative Multipurpose Society Limited has held its maiden edition of Annual General Meeting (AGM) with number of programmes which include presentation of its 2025 annual account.

Penpushing reports that the ceremony took place on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at the Cooperative Plaza, Glory Community Development Association (CDA), Ire-Akari Olomore in Abeokuta North local government of Ogun State.

The association in an affiliate of Itesiwaju Ogo Ire Akari Olomore, and was established on October 26, 2023 with membership include male and female with different professions and work to earn a living.

Penpushing further reports that other programme of events includes reading and adoption of annual account, re-election of the serving executives for another tenure to run affairs of the body and unveiling of the association new anthem among others.

The President of the society, Mrs Olubunmi Odunewu in her welcome address gave history of the cooperative society, explaining that the body is a new chapter born from its mother cooperative-Legacy Itesiwaju Ile-Akari, Olomore.

‘Our foundation is a new chapter born out of our mother’s cooperative’s Legacy Itesiwaju Ire-Akari Olomore, Abeokuta North CMS Ltd, a testament to growth and expansion’, Odunewu emphasized.

Penpushing also reports that she stated and assured that as a branch of this esteemed family, the society under her leadership is poised to empower individuals, strengthen community bonds and drive economic growth.

The President added that during the cause of a year the society has worked tirelessly to record commendable progress in members participation, financial management and service delivery, explaining that the cooperation and commitment of members have been instrumental in achieving the positive outcomes

Penpushing reports that Odunewu said the financial performance of the society under one year of operations has been encouraging, disclosing that loan and thrift operations were introduced to support members personal business needs, thereby improving their economic well being

‘The response from members was encouraging, showing growing confidence in the society. The management committee worked closely with the board to ensure sound governance and effective administration’, she added

Penpushing further reports she stated that regular meetings and consultations helped making informed decisions and resolving issues promptly, boasting that the positive result recorded in this first year was an assurance that the society is on the right path

‘The management is expecting more collaboration, committed to expand our services and give opportunities for members to thrive and committed to make our cooperative a beacon of success and a source of pride. Let us look forward to a brighter future together’, Odunewu stated.

Penpushing also reports that the society boss expressed appreciation to all dedicated members, board members been instrumental to the success story of the cooperative society, and prayed that God will continue to guide all stakeholders

Meanwhile, the re-elected officials include Mrs Olubunmi Odunewu (President), Mr Sheriff Oladejo (Vice President), Mrs Fatimo Fatade (Secretary), Mrs Aderonke Adebayo (Treasurer) and Mrs Elizabeth Ogunsina (Member)
