International Press Institute postpones election
The International Press Institute (IPI), Nigeria has announced postponement of its earlier scheduled Annual General Meeting (AGM) and election for Tuesday into various elective positions, for another one week for proper preparation
Penpushing reports that, Secretary of the Institute, Raheem Adedoyin made this known in a message sent to members across the country, explaining that, the guidelines for the election will soon be issued.
The scribe further explained that the postponement of the election of the institute which is a global network of editors, media executives and journalists became necessary to allow for proper preparations
‘Dear All, Good Morning. On Tuesday, 27th July, 2021, I sent out a mail to members that the IPI General meeting/ Election scheduled for today has been shifted forward by a week’, Adedoyin said
‘The postponement became necessary to allow for proper preparations for the election. By tomorrow, the guidelines for the election will be issued. Thank you. All, the electoral guidelines are being fine-tuned and will be released as soon as the committee is through. Apologies for the inconveniences. Happy Weekend’, he added.
