Impact School of Broadcasting gets accreditation for courses

The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has approved accreditation of three courses which include National Diploma programs in Mass Communication, Computer Science, and Accountancy for Impact School of Broadcasting and Communication, Ibadan, Oyo State Capital.

Penpushing reports that President of Impact Group, owners of Impact African Television and Impact Business Radio (Amutajero), Deacon Owolabi Oladejo announced the cheering news in a statement on Thursday, explaining that with the accreditation, the college has become a recognized institution of higher education

‘Impact School of Broadcasting and Communication (ISBC) proudly announces its accreditation by the National Board for Technical Education as a recognized institution of higher education to offer National Diploma programs in Mass Communication, Computer Science, and Accountancy’, Oladejo said.

Penpushing further reports that statement stated that the vision of the institution is to be a globally recognised center of excellence in technical education, producing skilled and innovative professionals.

The statement added that the mission is to foster an inclusive learning environment that nurtures creativity, critical thinking, and practical skills, preparing students to meet the challenges of the ever-evolving technological landscape.

Penpushing also reports that the statement explained that Impact School of Broadcasting and Communication (ISBC) started in 2018 by training ICAN examinations candidates, budding broadcasters and providing ICT training is established to provide quality and affordable education beyond mere certificates,

‘At Impact School of Broadcasting and Communication, we wholeheartedly embrace a skill-based approach to learning, placing profound emphasis on practical methods rather than mere rote memorization’, he said.

‘We teach and train our students with the primary goal of equipping them with the ability to apply their knowledge and “do” rather than passively accumulate information. Skill-based learning provides hands-on experiences that better prepare students for their future careers, ensuring that they are well-equipped to tackle real-life challenges and make a positive impact in our rapidly changing world’.

‘Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed not only for theoretical knowledge acquisition but also for comprehensive skill development, fostering the overall growth and development of our students’, the statement reads.

‘Our ND Mass Communication students will be trained by practicing professionals in the “live” Studios of Impact Business Radio (IBR 92.5FM) and Impact Africa Television; the ND Computer Science students will train in our Metro Innovation Hub and well equipped Computer laboratory while the ND Accountancy students will be trained by professional Accountants’, he boasted.

‘Thus, our students will be well groomed and will receive Diplomas, relevant internationally recognized Professional Certificates, and valuable entrepreneurial skills, positioning them for success in various career paths’, Oladejo emphasised.

‘We also provide opportunities for students to engage in industry projects, internships, and entrepreneurship. ISBC will offer three diploma programs: National Diploma in Mass Communication, National Diploma in Computer Science, and National Diploma in Accountancy’.

‘Each program will have a duration of two years and will consist of four semesters. The programs will cover core subjects, electives, and capstone projects. The programs will also have a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary learning, problem-solving, and creativity’.

“We are delighted to receive the accreditation from the NBTE, this is a recognition of our commitment to excellence, innovation and skill-based education. We believe that ISBC will fill a gap in the education sector and prepare our students for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century”, Oladejo stressed.

‘ISBC is currently admitting its first batch of students. The admission process will be based on academic merit, aptitude test, and interview. ISBC will also offer scholarships and financial aid to eligible students’, he explained.
