IFO VIOLENCE: MISSING POLICE INSPECTOR RE-APPEARS 48 HOURS AFTER

The hoodlums also allegedly killed one person at the scene, and set ablaze number of vehicles, while the Inspector was allegedly attacked and seized, a development which prompted police authorities raising alarm over his missing.

Penpushing reports that, the Command Public Relations Officer, Abimbola in an update on Tuesday said the missing officer in wake of crisis had been found, but with degree of injuries allegedly inflicted by the hoodlums.

“The Ogun State Police Command wishes to inform members of the public that the police Inspector declared missing in the wake of crisis in Ifo area of the state has been seen. The said officer Inspector Sunday Ogundapo re appeared at about 10 am of Tuesday 23rd of April 2019 with various degree of matchete injuries all over his body”.

Penpushing further reports that, Oyeyemi in a statement said the policeman narrated how he was rescued from the scene of the mayhem by a good Samaritan who used a motorcycle to take him to an hospital in the area.

“He narrated further that while in the hospital, the Doctor informed him of the plan by his assailants to come and finish up with him in the hospital consequent upon which his helper quickly took him away to an area close to the border from where he managed to find his way back to Abeokuta early in the morning’

The Command spokesman said the Commissioner of Police  Bashir Makama on behalf of the Command appreciate the efforts of people who rallied round to ensure the safety of the officer.

Meanwhile, the police said twenty-five suspects were already arrested in connection with the violence, explaining they would be arraign on conclusion of proper investigation
