If you approach me to release cultists, I will disgrace you, police commissioner warns sponsors
The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Aderemi Adeoye, has declared that he would disgrace any sponsor(s) of cultism who approached him for release of any cultist arrested in the state and environs.
Penpushing reports that Adeoye made the declaration in a statement issued by the Command Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, warning that such sponsors may receive same treatment meant for arrested cultists.
The statement made available to journalists on Friday said the commissioner described those sponsoring the cultists to kill other people as cowards who should cover their faces in shame, and vowed to clamp down on cultists terrorising residents of the state.
Penpushing further reports that the commissioner has, however, ordered an onslaught against cultists and their sponsors in the state, emphasizing that the command would come down very hard on the heartless cultists who take pleasure in killing others.
The police boss assured residents of Anambra State that peace and tranquillity, which had eluded them lately due to the recent cult-related killings in the state, would be restored soon, and appealed for the cooperation of the residents in the efforts to flush out cultists in the state.
