Ibadan High Chief, Lekan Alabi reschedules 70th birthday celebration

An Ibadan High Chief, Oloye Lekan Alabi has postponed his birthday anniversary scheduled to hold on October 27, in honour of the victims who lost their lives during the protests against brutality in Nigeria.
Penpushing reports that, Chairman of the birthday Anniversary Planning Committee,Prof Remi Raji made this known at a press conference held on Monday at Press Centre, Iyanganku, Ibadan, Oyo State Capital.
The Committee boss disclosed that, the birthday anniversary has been shifted to December 7, 2020 in view of the position of the family of the celebrator has the theme,’ “Give me the Old Nigeria – Western Region on my Mind”.
Penpushing further reports that, Raji said the activities slated for the new date include the presentation of a play derived from the life story of the Oloye , who is the Ekeefa Olubadan to re-create the glorious days of the old Western Region in the young nation, Nigeria as merit-driven society.
“Highlights of celebration include celebrations of the golden era of the Western Region of Nigeria, with poetry/drama, book, dress and food exhibitions and dance;, the planning committee chairman said.
Penpushing also reports that Raji expresses appreciation to the Planning Committee members, as well as other well wishers which include President Muhammed Buhari, former Governors Omololu Olunloyo and Olusegun Osoba, as well as the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council among others.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ) Oyo State Council, Comrade Ademola Babalola congratulated the Ibadan chief, pointing out that he has impacted a lot on many Nigerians, pledging the support of the union towards the success of the birthday celebratio
