I won’t allow Obaseki to clinch ticket as peoples democratic party governorship candidate, says aspirant

A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in Edo State, Kenneth Imasuagbon, has declared that he cannot thwart his sixteen year governorship ambition, to step down for Godwin Obaseki.

Penpushing reports that Imasuagbon made the declaration following speculations that, there is pressure on other Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) aspirants to step down for Obaseki, who few days ago joined the opposition party

“If there is anyone who should step down for the other, it is Obaseki. Obaseki now has a problem in APC and he has now come to PDP and he wants to muscle me out again.This cannot happen’, he declared

The lawyer turned politician explained further that  he has been on his governorship project for over a decade, and therefore  would, not give it up “in just 24 hours” because of  the new entrant, boasting that he has a lot of followers across the State.

Penpushing further reports that, the optimistic aspirant expressed confidence that  he would win the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) primary, stressing that he was already on consultation with the  the people

The aspirant recalled that in 2016 he sought to contest for governorship under the All Progressives Congress(APC)  but was “muscled out” of the race by Adams Oshiomhole, who was  then Governor of the state, who helped Obaseki to succeed him.

“Most people who became governor now, they had no plan to become governor or any plan of what they want to do for their state. For me, it has been a deliberate thing because I want to serve my people,”  Imasuagbon said.
