I will not betray mandate offered me for second term, Governor Abiodun assures Ogun state residents
The Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has assured that, as he commenced his second term of four years in office on May 29, 2023, he would not betray mandate offered him by the electorate which paved way for his victory at the poll.
Penpushing reports that Abiodun made the pledge at a Special Church Service for his inauguration held on Sunday at Cathedral of St Peter, Ake, Abeokuta, a ceremony attended by number of dignitaries which include traditional rulers, serving federal and state lawmakers, security chiefs, Chief Judge of the State, Iyalode of Yorubaland, Iyalode Alaba Lawson and Ogun State Head of Service, as well as top political gladiators within and outside the state among others.
The re-elected Governor recalled that he was almost robbed of electoral victory, adding that with the intervention of God, and good people of the state, he was able to be victorious, adding that his focus now is good governance.
Penpushing further reports that Abiodun said he would build on the foundation already laid in his first term, adding that his legacies were available as reference point, in performing creditably well in the last four years
‘We have fulfil our promise in line with our vision in the last four years. We have made difference. Our legacies are there for all to see. We thank God for seeing us through last election, inspite of all attempts to rob us of victory. It is Lord who crown. Let me assure you we will not betray mandate given us’
Penpushing also reports that the Governor called on all well-meaning indigenes and resident of Ogun State to support his administration with prayers as he embark on another round of meaningful and purposeful tenure
‘We shall build on foundation already laid down. Support us with prayers as we begin another chapter. We will ensure we keep all promises made, we can’t do everything, but we shall keep to our promises. We are appreciating God for keeping us in the last four years’, Abiodun emphasized
