I killed my wife because she is responsible for my misfortunes in life, says pastor
The General overseer of Omega Word Global Ministries in Ikot Ataku village, Okon, in Eket, Akwa Ibom State Pastor Chris Enoch, who killed his wife and buried her corpse in a shallow grave said he committed the crime because his wife was responsible for his misfortunes in life.
Penpushing reports that, the 49 year old cleric whose church has been operating inside the same rented compound where he and his family have been living together told police that his 40 year old wife, Patience, who was a petty was beaten to death over unresolved differences.
The community it is recalled became suspicious when the pastor’s children complained to neighbours that they had not seen their mother for days after she had a quarrel with their father
Penpushing further reports that,report by the children led to a manhunt by the youths of the community,and to amazement of the search party led by the community youth president the corpse of Patient, the wife was discovered in a shallow
The youth president of Okon Clan, Effiong Johnson who said he was coming from the police station,as at the time of filing this report said the suspect confessed to the crime and buried her corpse in the shallow grave inside their gated compound where they have been living with their five children
“I am just coming from the (police) station now, he just opened up that he killed the woman about seven days ago, From what the children said, they (the pastor and the wife) had been having issues and sometimes he would say in front of the children that he would kill the wife and nothing would happen. On this particular day, the man chased the children away when he and the wife started fighting,” he added.
