The theme of the conference is, ’Media, Hate Speeches and 2019 General Elections in Nigeria: A Democratic Participant or Democratized Press’, with ,Lanre Arogundade of International Press Centre, Lagos, presenting lecture on the topic, Capacity Building-Media Code of Election Coverage and the Professional Reporting of 2019 election.
Similarly, Prof Muyiwa Popoola of Department of Communication and Media Studies, Ajayi Crowther University ,Oyo presented paper on the theme of the congress, which attracts journalists across the country and other stakeholders
Penpushing reports that, notable dignitaries at the event include, Ogun State Deputy Governor,Chief(Mrs Yetunde Onanuga, Alake of Egbaland, Oba Aremu Gbadebo who was represented by the Baaroyin of Egbaland, Alhaji Lai Labode, Kabiyesi Olufemi Ogunleye(veteran journalist) Mrs Funke Fadugba(former Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, and now Chairman Editorial Board of Penpushing Media.
