I AM BEING VICTIMIZED FOR TRANSFORMING ABEOKUTA INTO MEGACITY-GOVERNOR AMOSUN

The Governor in his defence  argued  that no sane Governor worth his salt will abandon the State capital to remain a glorified State capital that it was when he was voted in 2011,stating that it was uncharitable for anyone to accuse him of developing Abeokuta over other areas.

Penpushing further reports that, Amosun explained that, though priority was given to the State capital, he has never abandoned other areas in his infrastructure drive, accusing the unnamed leaders of jealous of his achievements.

Hear him, “Why am I being castigated? Abeokuta was made the State capital over 40 years ago and the only offence I have committed is to have developed Abeokuta, but I tell you, no sane Governor will neglect Abeokuta, else that Governor will see the result’.

“I have never neglected other areas. We have one of the best flyovers and roads of our administration in Sagamu, there are two flyovers in Ijebu Ode with good roads and the same things are done in Ijebu Igbo and Yewa’.

“What we’ve done is that when we do three things in Abeokuta, we do two or one in other places and we are running round day and night to get this done. I am not the first Governor in Ogun State but I appreciate what they’ve done but if anybody castigate me? No governor worth his salt will abandon Abeokuta.”

 Amosun solicited for votes over his Senatorial ambition, and also appealed to the electorates not to trade their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC’s) for monetary gains saying some politicians will come deceiving them.

“Our struggle is that of liberation, nobody can come and enslave us in Ogun State and that is why we must be ready and liberate ourselves with our PVC. Don’t trade tour PVC with anybody, it is your power and if you’ve not collected, go and collect the PVC, because the only way to liberate yourselves is through the PVC’.

“Don’t be deceived into trading your PVC, they will come with promise of loans and grants requesting for your PVC number, tell them they are thrives and criminals, ask them where they have been since all these years that they are now coming on the eve of the election.”

 Penpushing also reports that,Amosun said the ongoing airport project in Wasinmi ward will transform the local government to a mega city, a development which he said would also addressed power failure in the area.

“The Federal Government has started the airport project and this community will be the biggest beneficiary because the airport will be linked with a standard gauge railway and once this is done, this place will not only be transformed into a mega city, 24 hours power supply will be guaranteed.”
