Osoba tasks journalists to uphold code of conduct, to flush out fake practitioners
The former Ogun State Governor, Chief Olusegun Osoba has called on journalists across the globe on need to subscribe to code of conduct of the profession, as a way to expel fake professionals from the industry.
Penpushing reports that, Osoba, a veteran journalist made the call while speaking on Penpushing platform, an arm of the media organization, noting that those who failed to subscribe to the code or trained were the ones giving the noble profession a bad name and image.
‘I said those who neither subscribed to our code of conduct or trained were the ones giving all of us bad name and destroying the profession. I urge and keep urging that we should all, true journalists create standard’, he said
Penpushing further reports that, a mentor to number of journalist across the world, also encouraged true journalists to invade the internet and create standard, stressing that this is more applicable to those practicing online, with a submission that our future is online.

Penpushing also reports that, Osoba December 2019 delivered the anniversary lecture of 160 anniversary journalism practice in Nigeria titled, ’Re-inventing the practice of journalism in Nigeria with emphasis on the Influence of the Social Media’, held in Abeokuta, Ogu Stare Capital
The former Governor expressed worry on the threat social media is having on the journalism profession, and called on media practitioners to rise up to the challenges before ‘intruders; damage the reputation of the noble profession.
Penpushing reports that, Osoba as part of his contributions to make the profession to still stand out, announced his free gestures to return to classroom as lecturer at the Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPLOY) Abeokuta if the authority shows interest.
