Helicopter crash in Lagos State, kills 3

The Bell Helicopter 206B3 belonging to Quorum Aviation Ltd, on Friday crashed at Opebi area of  Lagos State claiming lives of three persons said to be on board.

Penpushing reports that, the Director of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), Femi Oke-Osanyintola said the crash occurred at midday leaving two of the crew members dead at the spot, while the third person who was earlier resuscitated and taken to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) was later confirmed dead.

The Director said the helicopter crash had an impact on all the three men in the helicopter, adding that the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) retrieved the black box of the helicopter for more investigations.

Penpushing further reports that, the wreck of the aircraft was recovered from the scene in all earlier operation by the agency and other agencies such as the Nigerian Civil Aviation Agency, Accident Investigation Bureau and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) Director said the affected buildings will be subjected to integrity testing while the entire area will be fumigated to prevent secondary hazards.
