Harvest of arrest: Ogun police command parades 103 suspects for various offences
The Ogun State Police Command on Thursday celebrated harvest of suspects as it paraded 103 for various criminal offences, and this include 50 youths who were arrested in connection with the “7 – 7” cultists anniversary held last Tuesday in Abeokuta, the state capital
Penpushing reports that, Commissioner of Police Kenneth Ebrimson who paraded the suspects at the Eleweran Police headquarters in Abeokuta, said the alleged suspects were arrested at different locations, adding that on completion of investigations they would be charge to court.
The commissioner said the suspected cultists who were established to be members of the notorious; Eiye confraternity” allegedly initiated new members but were prevented from unleashing terror on the people of the state because of the heavy police presence which had laid siege for them.
The Command also paraded a 44 year old Evangelist of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Oluwafemi Oyebola who engaged in sex with her biological daughter, impregnated her thrice and also procured abortion for her
Penpushing further reports that, similarly, an Assistant Matron with State Hospital, Ipokia, Mrs Monilola Ogundimu was also paraded for allegedly carrying out the abortion on the 34 year old girl, and injected her with family planning injection to guide against subsequent pregnancies.
The father of the girl, while admitting the crime claimed that, he was under the influence of spiritual attack, claiming that he could not phantom what led him into the act of sleeping with her daughter.
Penpushing also reports that, the cleric while lamenting over his action said he had asked for forgiveness from her daughter, and asked for forgiveness from Nigerians, adding, ” I regret my action and I have sought for forgiveness from my daughter’.
‘She has also forgiven me as she came to plead with the CP on my behalf on Wednesday. I want to sincerely beg for forgiveness from Nigerians; my action was unheard of, and I seriously regret it”, he stated.
Penpushing reports that, the matron on her own part, while speaking with journalists, denied aborting any pregnancy for the girl emphasized that till date, she is an Assistant Matron and Head, Family Planning Unit at Idiroko General Hospital in Ipokia Local Government area of the state.
