Gunmen kill village head while breaking Ramadan fast
Gunmen have killed District Head of Maisamari community in Sardauna Local Government Area of Taraba State, Abdulkadir Sufiyanu after invading the mosque at around 8 p.m. after the breaking of the Ramadan fast.
Penpushing reports that, the gunmen shot dead the traditional ruler while he was performing night prayers, while sources said the attack on the town comes days after gunmen raided several villages in Gassol and Karim Lamido’s local government areas in the North-east region.
The residents on social media recounted the last moment of the traditional ruler about 9 days ago, who was filmed discussing boundary demarcation between the Sadauna council and neighbouring Gashaka with officials of the state government.
Penpushing further reports that, the Taraba State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Usman Abdullahi, could not be immediately reached as at the time of filing this report on the position of the command on the ugly development.
