Gunmen kill six persons at beer parlour

Gunmen on Thursday attacked a beer parlour in Wereng in the Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State and shot dead six persons,just as the police said investigation into the sad incident has commenced

Penpushing reports that, the Plateau State Police Command Public Relations Officer,  Ubah Ogaba, confirmed the incident  at the drinking joint  in a statement on Friday in Jos, the State Capital.

“The command is aware of the unfortunate attack at a beer parlour in Wereng village of Riyom where six persons lost their lives. The Commissioner of Police, Mr Edward Egbuka, condemned the incident and had directed the Area Commander to relocate to the community, Ogaba said.

Penpushing further reports that the command as at the time of filing this report said more personnel have been deployed to ensure that normalcy is restored and to avert further breakdown of law and order in the village

The police spokesman disclosed that He the command had commenced investigation to unravel the circumstances behind the attack and to also bring the perpetrators to book, calling on residents of the community to be law-abiding and provide any information that could lead to the arrest of the criminals to security agencies.
